We love San Antonio , it might be because this is where our friends Claire and Madeleine live! We jump at any chance to visit these ladies.
. The ride was fun and included a stop at Sonic for Lunch and Milkshakes. Nolan finally feel asleep about 30 minutes before we got there. I really think he thinks we have lots of fun while he sleeps. He really fights it.
We finally got to the hotel and settled in . We put on our swim clothes and headed to the super fun pool! They had a special kids area with water slides, fountains, big fake fish, and a huge 2 ft deep pool. Nathan and Nolan both got right in. Nathan loved the slides and Nolan loved to walk around and splash. He also like to stick his head under the water. I think this made the lifeguard a little nervous because he seemed to be hovering over us. :)
After a little splashing in the kids pool Nathan said he would go on the BIG water slide with me. Lucky for us he is so tall that he meets the height restrictions for the big rides. We loaded up on our inner tube and took off. We went through this dark tunnel with all kinds of twists and turns. I was so worried Nathan would be scared but he was laughing and kept yelling that he was in a Rocket Ship!
It was so funnnnnn. After swimming we headed back to the room to take a little rest and then get ready to meet everyone for dinner. It was such a fun day.
On Saturday we were going to go and visit CLAIRE!!!!!! WE woke up that morning to rain. Daddy's golf got pushed back so we got to hang out with Daddy and Papa and eat a BIG breakfast. We walked around with everyone for a bit and then headed off to see Claire. Nolan stayed behind at the hotel with Mimi and from what I hear had a great time!
When we got to Claire's house Nathan was sooo happy to see her. He misses her so much and had been so excited he was going to get to visit his "care".
They immediately ignored us moms and went to have some fun. ha ha ha ah. They went up to Claire's room and you could hear them talking and laughing non stop. I love to hear these two play and laugh together like they do . It was great because I got to visit with Katherine and Miss Madeleine who is the sweetest little baby in the world! She is sooooo laid back and just loves to dance and cuddle. If you don't have baby fever being around this little lady will take care of that.
After a bit the sun came out and we headed back to the hotel to let them play in the pool! They had so much fun and Mimi said she could hear them laughing all the way from our balcony on the 9th floor!
When it was time to go we all loaded in the elevator . As we were going up Katherine looked at me and whispered that she was going to get out with Claire really quick at the lobby so she wouldn't notice Nathan wasn't coming with her. These two are like a band aid , you have to rip it off quick and then try to find some distractions! Well Nathan quickly realized what was happening and starting crying as the doors were closing. " I want to go with my Care" he kept saying over and over. Talk about breaking my heart . He was truly heartbroken. I was sooo sad for him. Luckily Katherine had invited us to breakfast so we could see them again before we left. This helped me calm him down, letting him know he would get to see her again.
The next day we got up and Nathan told everyone that he was going to eat breakfast with Claire. We packed our car up headed to breakfast. The whole gang was there . Claire's Mommy, Daddy, Sister, Aunt Lauren, Grandpa and Grandma, our Mimi and NOlan. It was totally the future rehearsal dinner party!
The pancakes were delicious and it was so nice eating with everyone. After breakfast we had to say goodbye to our friends which was very sad but went over much better than the day before. Pancakes do seem to make bad news easier to swallow :)
The ride home was great and included another stop at Sonic for lunch and Milkshakes! ha ha ha ha ha.
Everyone had such a great weekend. Nolan has even been in a great mood since . I think he needed a vacation!
