Natural Bridge Caverns

For Spring Break we decided to take a little road trip to the Natural Bridge Caverns outside of San Antonio. I had heard of it before and thought it would be a somewhat educational and fun trip for the boys. They boys had checked it out online before we went and were very excited .
When we arrived we started out with the Cavern tour. The tour lasted almost two hours and took us through room after room . The boys got to learn all about stalagmites and other formations. All of us were fascinated by the size of the formations and how long they have been there.
After we left the Caverns we headed over to an area called the Canopy Challenge . Nathan and Daddy got harnessed in and climbed over all kinds of ropes, ladders, chains, etc . to climb to the very top. It was very high! Nolan wasn't big enough for the main one just yet so he got to climb on the junior course . They were both so cute in their gear!
After that fun we headed to get a sherbert and fresh lemonade! Who could resist that yumminess?!
When then headed over to the rock mining station. I remember going on trips to North Carolina as a child and "mining", I loved it so much. The boys had never done it before so it was quite a treat that they had it there. They both picked out their bags of mining sand and got to work. They found a ton of "crystals" and were so excited. They kept saying how they couldn't wait to get home and show Mimi that they had some now too.
The very last stop was the life size maze. We split up into teams , Nathan and Daddy vs Mommy and Nolan. The point was to go through the maze and get four stamps that were placed in different areas. It was huge and hard to get around. Daddy and Nathan finished in record time while Nolan and I couldn't manage to get past the first two stamps. Luckily we had some help from Daddy above us on the platform telling us where to go. If we had to find those last two on our own I think we would have had to sleep there.

On our way back home we stopped by Gruene. The boys and I had never been here before . It is famous for the legendary  Gruene Hall  which we visited first. We then headed over to the Mill for some delicious dinner on the river. It was such a beautiful town right on  the water. We really didn't want to leave but everyone was pretty tired from the busy day. It was another perfect day of fun with my boys. I love these times spent together with my family. Seeing the smiles on their faces is priceless and I know we are making wonderful memories .

Nolan's Football Birthday Party

This year Nolan decided he wanted a football themed birthday . I kept throwing out other ideas but he was certain that is what he wanted. We got to work and found some cute ideas for his party . On the big day he was so excited! We had it at Great Play and all of our sweet friends were able to make it. The kids played lots of games including a few football relays that he loved. For the food we kept with the theme and of course had stadium hot dogs and chips. We had Linebacker Lemonade and little football water to quench their thirst. After we headed over to the Sideline Sweets bar where they kids got to fill their bags full of different sweets. Next it was time to sing happy birthday! Nathan blew out his 5 football candles and made a huge wish. When the party was over we sent our friends on their way with personalized football water bottles for the boys and cheerleaders for the girls. I love watching the boys have so much fun on their birthday with all of our sweet friends. We are so lucky to have the friends and family we do that make their days so special .

Valentines at School

It is hard to find Valentines that the boys think are cool. I came across an idea with whoopee cushions and loved it . For some reason I didn't realize it was inappropriate until after they left for school. OOPS. I didn't get any calls from teachers so I guess that was good. Nathan did tell me that his teacher said do not take Nathan's valentines out of the package until you are home :) We also sent her one of our favorite books out right now with a cute note about her being a rainbow.

Nolan Plays Football

So Nolan decided he needs to play football. I thought how can we tell him no after he is always having to tag along for Nathan . We talked his buddy Josh into signing up with him, sat back and watched the show. He had a great time but really doesn't get the whole idea yet. The team had a pretty big age group ranging from 4  to six. Nolan and Josh were definitely the younger two but tried to keep up with the big guys. Their coach was so sweet and patient with them which was perfect for his first time playing. He told us he wants to be defense like JJ Watt so that works .
