New York , New York

In order to open our new gym I had to go to Connecticut for training for over 3 weeks. It was so hard to have to leave the boys but they were in good hands with Kyle and Mimi. Before I left we had a plan for them to come visit the last week I was there so it wouldn’t be such a long time apart. The worst part is that Nolan’s birthday was right in the middle of me being gone :( ( More on that later) . We skyped on the computer every night and they were busy all day between school , golf, and playing with our friends! When they finally made it we had so much fun! One night we all headed into New York to show the boys the city. Nathan knows about New York and was excited to be there. We loaded up on the train from Connecticut into the city and then hopped on the subway to Grand Central Station! We then headed over to Times Square. When we got to Times Square we walked around taking in all the sights. Nolan was strapped into a stroller because I was not taking my chances loosing him in NEw York! We decided to take them to the big Toys R Us and check it out. We rode the ferris wheel that is right in the middle of the store, shopped for lots of toys, and even spotted Iron Man! It was such a blast and the boys had a great time. After we left the store we walked around and decided to eat at the Counter. It is a burger place that Chad works at in Houston! We have never been to the one here so why not try it out in New York! It was delicious and we could even see the “ City Elmo” walking around outside while we ate. After a little bit more walking and chasing pigeons with Daddy the boys were starting to get worn out so we headed back to Grand Central Station . On the way back Nathan acted so cool like he had done this a million times before. As we were getting off the train Nathan and Mimi spotted the Subway Operator. She talked Nathan into going up and taking his picture with him. He was so nice to Nathan and told him a little about the subway. Nathan thought it was so neat ! After the long ride home both boys were pooped and so were the adults . It was so fun to be able to take them somewhere like New York and see it how they see it. Nathan and Nolan still talk about New York and how cool it is. I think we will have to take a trip back when they are a little bit older and can do a bit more.
