Nolan is 3!

Nolan's birthday was at Great Play this year!!! It was one of our first birthdays and was so fun to celebrate with all of our friends. We started off the party with the sports intros that is like running out into a sports game. After we did an obstacle course, hide and seek, treasure hunts, red light green light and pin ball. We had so much fun . At the end of the party everyone even got gold medals for being so awesome and doing such a great job. Next it was time for CAKE!!!! We had our amazing cake lady make us another perfect cake. The theme was sports so she made it with all the different balls and Buddy on top of the cake. It was a wonderful day with all of our great friends and family.

Great Play , Connecticut

While in Connecticut Nathan and Nolan got to go to Great Play. They have both heard lots about Great Play but haven't had the chance to go until now. Nathan got to try out a few classes and had such a great time! Nolan was only able to do one class since that is all there was while we were there. In true Nolan fashion he ran laps around while the class was going on but he had a blast also. The boys were really excited when we left to see what it was we were doing . It was cool for them to be able to experience it rather than us just showing them pictures and trying to explain it. All of the coaches were soo sweet to the boys and us while we were there. I am so excited for them to be able to play at our Great Play soon!!!

New York , New York

In order to open our new gym I had to go to Connecticut for training for over 3 weeks. It was so hard to have to leave the boys but they were in good hands with Kyle and Mimi. Before I left we had a plan for them to come visit the last week I was there so it wouldn’t be such a long time apart. The worst part is that Nolan’s birthday was right in the middle of me being gone :( ( More on that later) . We skyped on the computer every night and they were busy all day between school , golf, and playing with our friends! When they finally made it we had so much fun! One night we all headed into New York to show the boys the city. Nathan knows about New York and was excited to be there. We loaded up on the train from Connecticut into the city and then hopped on the subway to Grand Central Station! We then headed over to Times Square. When we got to Times Square we walked around taking in all the sights. Nolan was strapped into a stroller because I was not taking my chances loosing him in NEw York! We decided to take them to the big Toys R Us and check it out. We rode the ferris wheel that is right in the middle of the store, shopped for lots of toys, and even spotted Iron Man! It was such a blast and the boys had a great time. After we left the store we walked around and decided to eat at the Counter. It is a burger place that Chad works at in Houston! We have never been to the one here so why not try it out in New York! It was delicious and we could even see the “ City Elmo” walking around outside while we ate. After a little bit more walking and chasing pigeons with Daddy the boys were starting to get worn out so we headed back to Grand Central Station . On the way back Nathan acted so cool like he had done this a million times before. As we were getting off the train Nathan and Mimi spotted the Subway Operator. She talked Nathan into going up and taking his picture with him. He was so nice to Nathan and told him a little about the subway. Nathan thought it was so neat ! After the long ride home both boys were pooped and so were the adults . It was so fun to be able to take them somewhere like New York and see it how they see it. Nathan and Nolan still talk about New York and how cool it is. I think we will have to take a trip back when they are a little bit older and can do a bit more.

Yucky Germs

Poor Nolan came down with a little stomach bug the day after Christmas. He was so sad and miserable for all of 6 hours till he fought it off and was on his way. I am so greatful that he has turned out to be such a healthy kid! If he gets sick he doesn't stay sick for long. He really is one tough little cookie.
This picture cracks me up because he is still wearing his boots that he slept in Christmas night with his un matching pajamas that he insisted on wearing. Just becuase you feel yuck doesn't mean you can't have style.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day was so fun. This year Nathan actually got up pretty early. Mimi and Papa stayed the night with us so she heard him sneaking around and opening presents! Thank goodness because we didn't even know the little stinker was up. He came into our room and said " Mommy ! Santa came and Mimi said you need to get up!" ah ha ha. She had told him to come and tell us that he was up. He had opened a few presents all by himself. We all got up and headed to the living room while he went to get up Nolan who was sleeping peacefully while all the action was happening.
Nolan was still out of it so just sat and watched while Nathan opened up his presents. He was going so fast. I feel like he took a class on present opening at school? He was excited about everything. He had made a list for Santa and pretty much got what he had asked for. I think it was only about 5 things which made it very easy . He got the Toy Story space ship, Legos, Science Kit, Microscope and a Telescope! Nolan got a pair of Toy Story boots. He was so excited when he opened them . He put them on right away and wears them everywhere! He really loves those boots. He also got a new station that goes to his Chuggington set. He loves to play with these trains and it is he only thing we know he loves. He has pretty much every single piece so I was very excited they came out with the new one before Christmas! It blows smoke when the train pulls in so he loves it. He also got a remote control Brewster that goes with the Chuggington stuff. The boys got a ton of things and are so spoiled it is ridiculous! I am so happy they are so sweet and all in all great kids so I don't mind if Santa feels the need to reward them. :)
One last present that was waiting for them was from Charlie! It had a sweet letter about how he loved spending the holidays with them and how good they are. He told them his favorite thing to do was watching them dance and their cool moves . He left them a Nickelodeon Dance Game for the Xbox! He told Nathan to keep up the good work at school and with his reading and reminded them to listen to their parents and for Nolan to work on his potty training ( hey you have to do what you can right? )
They were so excited Charlie left them a note and loved the game. After all the excitement we ate some breakfast and got to spend a nice morning with Mimi and Papa. After a while we all got dressed and ready to head over to Kathy and Richard's for lunch. It was YUMMY! Richard had made a fried Turkey and had all the fixings to go with it. Kathy had made some sweet potatoes that I just couldn't get enough of! They were sooooo good and I don't think there were any left after we got ahold of them. ha ha ha.
We spent the day hanging out and eating. It was very nice and relaxing and a perfect ending to the holidays!
I love the holidays and can't believe how fast they come and are done with . I wish we could have Christmas for a whole week. Wouldn't that be nice? I am sure there are two little boys I live with who would jump on that plan! :)

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was very fun this year. Everyone came over to our house for some Fajitas and all the fixings! After our bellies were full we moved into the living room for some presents. Everyone sat around and watched the presents each person was opening. Nathan was right in the middle! He is so funny because he now seems to know the routine. Before now you would have to kind of show him or let him know to open. This year he was running and reading names and handing them out to people. I am excited / sad that he is getting big enough to read the names on the packages. When did all this happen? I was sure he would need my assistance for much longer than 5 years. :)
Nolan was not very into it? I am not sure with Nolan sometimes . I think it might have just been to much going on with trying to see what everyone else was doing and then not realizing he needed to open his.
He would open one and just want to play with that. I think we all could have saved major money this year by buying him one present. ha ha ha.
The boys got all kinds of goodies including costumes which they love, a Rock and Roll Elmo, Footballs, Angry Bird blankets! , and tons more .
They both love to play Angry Birds which is a game on the ipone but they play a home made version where they throw pillows at each other and pretend to be the birds. Well the cool blankets they got go over their head and look like the birds! They have been so funny with them. When Nolan opened his he laid it on the ground and pretended to be asleep. He now sleeps with it every night .
After all the presents and playing the boys put on their new pajamas they had just opened. Nolan was Spiderman and Nathan was Captain America. We did have Christmas pajamas but these were much cooler to the boys. It was getting pretty late so daddy looked up to see where Santa was on the computer. He was getting pretty close so the boys scrambled to get the cookies and carrots ( for the reindeer) out so they could get to bed. They also had to tell Charlie goodbye since he would be going home to the North Pole with Santa tonight. They are so cute and sweet and told him how much fun they had with him and they will miss him till next year.
Then off to bed it was for the boys. I am sure they were dreaming of Sugar Plum Fairies until the next morning ..............
