This last week we went on a little trip with our friends to the Yogi Bear campground! It is a little drive from our house but to close not to go. They had a water park area for the kids with a big kids splash area that had slides, water cannons and a big picnic basket that dumped water every few minutes. They also had a HUGE slide like a water park would have. The boys loved the big slide Nathan said it was like Maters from his Cars movies because it has a flag painted on the inside. Nolan loved it because it was like a train tunnel. He kept saying Chooo Choooo.
We played at the water park for a long time. We then gathered everyone up and ate some lunch. After lunch we headed out to see what else there was to do. We put on dry clothes and found a cool like play place called comfy land. The best part was that it was inside and had lots of cool things for the kids to play with. We hung out until everyone cooled off and then walked over to the craft center. In the craft center they had all kinds of different things for the kids to make. We decided on coloring the Yogi Bear shirts you could buy. It was really neat, the shirts were black and white and they had a whole set up of fabric pens for the kids to color with. Nolan was more interested in pulling the caps off the markers. Nathan was really into his . The ladies even turned on Yogi Bear cartoons for the kids to watch while they were coloring. After watching the cartoons for a bit he asked me if Yogi lived there? I said of course he does :) Not more than 5 minutes later guess who walked into the craft center????? It was YOGI!!!!! Nathans face lit up and he ran and gave him one of his excited but a little scared fast hugs.
It was so cute and sweet how he came to visit us!
Nolan was not a fan of the big bear. He was curious but not enough to go and hug him. The kids all got their pictures with Yogi and finished up their adorable shirts. They really did a great job coloring them.
We walked around a bit and found a mini golf course. Everyone grabbed a club and ball and ran off. By this point I have no clue how they were still moving. I was exhausted and it was HOT.
They ran and played golf for a bit and then it was time to load up. We went ahead and made them some dinner just in case they feel asleep on the way home. We took a super fast trip to see some animals at the petting zoo after dinner and then headed home. To my surprise neither one of these boys feel asleep on the way home. No one made a peep, they were so tired but kept fighting it. When we got home it was another story. Nolan put on his pajamas and went right to bed. Nathan did the same but just took a little longer because he was trying to stall. As soon as his head hit the pillow he was out cold.
It was such a fun day and I am so glad we did this before it got into the summer temperatures. I dont think I would have lasted more than and hour in the heat.
Artists at work.
Hard at work.
Nolan's shirt, he likes to keep it simple. Can you tell how exhausted he is :)
Nathans shirt. He did this all by himself!
