Robots!

The Museum in Sugarland is having a special exhibit on Robots. It is actually from an animated movie named Robots that Nathan really likes and watches all the time. We kept forgetting about it and just realized it is almost over. We decided to get into gear or we were going to miss it. Friday after Nathan got out of school we loaded up and headed that way. It was pretty darn neat! They had a few of the robots from the movie in a glass case to look at. There was also a special ride that you could sit in and go through robot city. Nolan absolutely loved this! There was a green button to push that made the ride start. The seat would rumble a little and wind would blow like they were really driving. Nolan stayed on this most of the time pressing the green button over and over and over , laughing every time. Some other cool things they had set up were stations like make your own robot, domino's, mechanical robots that you could control , and displays of robots throughout the years. Nathan thought it was pretty cool to make his own robot. Once he had the parts together he was able to hook the motor up to the power and make it run! Once the boys had checked everything we headed out to wander around. The museum had a neat little blow up planetarium set up in the middle of the floor. We walked in and they turned on a movie about space! Nathan quickly decided he was not having it! We walked out and after a little coaxing he decided that he wanted to watch the movie. We went in and laid on the floor and stared into space! Nolan really liked it . He was pretty amazed, it is the longest I have ever seen him sit still in his entire life!
Next we headed to the dinosaurs! Who doesn't love dinosaurs. This museum also has a dino pit where you can dig for dinosaur bones. The boys were so excited and hoped right in. As usual Nathan seriously headed to work. Nolan threw mulch. Nolan laughed. Nolan threw more mulch. Nathan discovered a dinosaur!
It was so much fun and I am so glad we got in gear and made it before it was over.

Dewberry Farms

Last week we were invited to tag along with a friend to Dewberry Farms. We had never been so were very excited to go!
When we got there the boys were so excited. They had pumpkins and Fall rides everywhere!!!! Our first stop was the hay ride.
Nolan wanted to be a big boy and sit with his big brother and friends on the middle of the trailer.
We rode through the farm and ended at the pumpkin patch where the boys got to pick out their own special pumpkin. Nolan picked a tiny one perfect for him . Nathan picked out a special green spotted pumpkin that he has been carrying around in the car with him since.
Next we headed to eat some lunch. After everyone was full we went to play at the little playground they had. The boys had a blast on this cool PVC pipe slide that rolls you down instead of sliding on a flat surface. It was funny to see them bouncing their way down. They had all sorts of fun things to ride including tractors, a swing horse, and digging cranes.
We then headed out to the Haunted Pumpkins . Nathan did not want to go in. It was a very dark barn with tons of carved pumpkins. I got to peak in for a second before Nathan realized he was not having it. It looked very Cool!
We then headed to the Corn Maze. All the kids seemed to go in different directions! Once we got them to follow each other we found our way out. As we were leaving Nolan slipped away from the bunch and headed back in! UH OH!!! I was for sure I was going to loose him in the maze but I got him before he got to far. Naturally he thinks things like this are hilarious and kept laughing harder and harder the further he ran .
After the maze everyone was getting worn out so we decided to just do a couple more things. We bounced on the cool in ground bubble like trampolines and rode a neat cow tractor train they had.
The boys were completely wiped out after the train. We headed back to the car and before we got out of the parking lot Nolan had already passed out! Nathan fought it the whole way home and rushed up to take a "rest" when we arrived.
The boys had so much fun . I love fall so much . I think we are going to head out the pumpkin patch by Mimi and Papas house when it cools off just a little more.

Happy Birthday Nate!

Today my baby turns 4. I cannot even start to tell you how fast these 4 years has flown by. It is hard to remember our lives before we had him but even more unbelievable that he has been here for 4 years! It is to fast and I wish it could slow down.
WE are so proud of the little guy he is and I can't wait to see who he will grow into. He is one amazing little boy. I know I am a proud momma but he always surprises me with things he knows and what he does.
He is so sweet and has a heart of gold. He is the most wonderful big brother I have ever seen. He is smarter than I could imagine and sweeter than I could have asked. I hope he always knows how much we love and adore him!
Happy Birthday Nathan !!!!!!

Calling All Superheroes !

Today was Nathan's big 4 Year Party. Nathan loves playing superheroes so that is what the theme was. When the kids first arrived they stopped at the Super Transformation Stations to decorate special superhero masks and put on their capes. After a bit of eating and running around our special guests arrived! Batman and Captain America showed up on a search for some new superheroes. They had heard about Nathan and his gang of super friends and figured that was the best place to find them. They put them through a very extensive super hero training camp. They learned how to dodge boulders, blast down dyno-mite, crawl through sewer tunnels and catch green goblins. When the training was done Batman gave all the new superheroes special super rings. Next we moved over to the cupcakes to celebrate not only a special birthday but also the training graduation of Super Texas Nathan!
After eating our supercakes decorated in true superman fashion ( red velvet with super blue icing )the kids ran and played even more. Before everyone left they got to fill up on some super treats. We had everything you can imagine, Kryptonite, Captain America Capsules, Super Spider Webs and Batman Bombs! Nathan told me in the middle of eating his cupcake "Mom, I really like my superhero birthday!". YAY, it was a success! :)

It is so fun to watch the kids and how serious they were about the super training. We have so many sweet friends and great family that make these celebrations even more special.

Superheros

Look who's ready for the Superhero birthday party this weekend!

School Days!

Last week was the beginning of school ! This is Nolan's first year and he has Nathan's first teachers Mrs. Kama and Mrs. Sandra.
They are the sweetest ladies and honestly he probably wouldn't be there if I knew he had different teachers. We were so worried about him and how he would feel about it. He has been tagging along dropping off and picking up Nathan for a while, so our school isn't really a new place to him. Nolan has very strong opinions about some things and I was hoping this wouldn't be one.
We went to meet the teacher on Wednesday and he was not having any part of it! He clung onto Kyle the whole time . He was making sure that he was not being left anywhere. We visited his classroom for a little bit and then moved to Nathan's new classroom to meet his teacher Mrs . Cindy. We also visited our favorite Music teacher Mrs Judy and Spanish teacher Mrs. Angela! Nathan sure does love his music class and Mrs Judy so I am thinking Nolan can feel the excitement from Nathan.
The first day quickly came around. Nathan was up and ready to go like a big boy. Nolan followed along not really knowing where we were going.
We loaded up and got to school. The boys were both excited!!! We took Nolan to his classroom first. He seemed very unsure . Luckily Nathan was very comfortable in his old classroom with his favorite teachers. Nolan seemed to warm up very quickly so Nathan and I snuck out to go to his room. We then headed down to Nathan's room, we didn't want to be late on our first day. Nathan was very excited to see one of his best buds Lance was in his class this year! I am so happy because his other good friend Hogan had to change schools. Him and Lance get along so good and have the same personalities. Nathan is also taking a special Friday class where they speak spanish 80 percent of the day. He has really picked up a lot and we thought he would like it. He has only been once so far but really enjoyed it. Mrs. Angela is his weekly Spanish teacher but she also teaches this special class so that makes it super fun for him too. He gets her for a whole 3 hours instead of his normal 20 minutes once a week .

When I got back to pick up my guys I got to Nolan's room first. I was so worried about him and just imagined him crying all day long. I walked in and they said he had passed out on his nap mat and had just woken up from his nap! They said he had a great day and even ate his lunch like a big boy. On his note they sent home it said he thought painting was really funny and kept laughing. I was so happy for him!!!!! We went to pick up Nathan next and he had a great day too! He is so happy to be back in school . I love seeing them so happy learning and playing!

Concussion

This is a little late but I saw this picture today and it reminded me of my poor baby and his boo boo. The week before we were all getting ready for our big trip to Mexico Nathan got a concussion! He was jumping on the couch and bumped his head on the counter. It was fast and he played it off because he knew he isn't supposed to be jumping on the couch. About an hour or so later we were outside and he started throwing up. I thought oh no he must have caught something . As he curled up on the couch and kept getting sick it clicked with me that he had hit his head .Uh ohhhh. I called the doc and they said to get to the ER for a CAT Scan! I was so worried about him. He was so sleepy and just wanted to rest. The only thing I have ever heard about concussions was that you shouldn't sleep. I felt like the worse mom in the world telling my baby he couldn't sleep.
We got to the hospital and everyone was so sweet. They took him back right away and bumped him to the front of the line for a scan. Thank goodness everything was okay! The doctor said he probably didn't hit it hard but hit it in just the right way . He stayed sick and woosy for a few more days :( Luckily he was all better and cleared for our fun trip to Mexico. The one tip from the doctor was to try not to let him hit his head. So sure enough the first day there we bumped it on the corner of the couch. All I can say is Nathan has got his mommies grace! ha ha ha.

This is what my baby looked like for a good 48 hours.
