Nay Nay's biggest fan.

After baseball season was over we decided to put Nathan in a few baseball classes to see if he wanted to keep up with it. His coaches name is Shane and Nathan really seems to like him. He has gotten really good at hitting and throwing!
The lesson starts at 6 so daddy rushes to meet us there from work. When he gets there Nolan pulls up a seat right next to him and cheers Nathan on . Every time he hits it Nolan yells " Good Job Nay Nay!" and will clap. It is so cute and sweet how proud he is of Nate. Nolan has picked up a lot about baseball from watching his big brother and always wants to play.

Slip and Slide.

This weekend for Fathers day we all went out to Mimi and Papa's house. The boys got to stay with them all weekend so on the way out daddy and I picked up a slip and slide for the boys to play on. It has been sooo hot out and the boys love to be outside so we figured this was the coolest way for them to be out in the heat. After lunch we set up the fun. Once it was all unfolded and the water was on neither Nate or Nolan really know how to slide. It is hard to tell them to just run and flop on it like superman. Daddy had to help out and pretty much ended up bowling them down the slide. It was so funny and they loved it! Nolan would go so fast and splash into the pool at the end. Nathan's long legs would flap around all over the place while he was sliding to the pool. It was so funny ad they had a blast. At one point everyone decided it just wasn't going fast enough and Mimi went inside and came out with cooking oil! ha ha hah a. (She looked for baby oil but didn't have any, the cooking oil wasn't her first choice.) By the time they were through they looked liked glistening little turkeys.
And yes Nolan is naked. We didn't remember to bring their swim shorts. We said oh they can just go in their undies , well while we were putting sunscreen on Nate, Nolan came running out in his birthday suit ready to go!

Our new friend.

We have a new friend in this house!
Last night Daddy was outside, he came in to tell me to get a cup and come look at this? I walked out and there was the cutest lizard that looked almost see through. He was pretty darn adorable. Kyle decided we needed to catch him so we could show Nathan in the morning when he woke up. We quickly grabbed Nathans bug catcher ( I know a bug and lizard are totally different. he he he. ) and spent the next 15 minutes catching this little guy. We put him some grass and water in the lady bug house but within 10 minutes felt bad and had to make a bigger home for this guy. We got a huge plastic container that some pretzels came in and poked holes in the top. It was midnight by this point and that is all I could come up with . We looked him up online and he is a gecko. It said they make great pets and are easy to care for. hmmmmmmmmm...................

This morning when we woke up I showed Nathan this cool guy. He thought he was very neat and was even worried about him being in the cage. I let him know he was totally fine and daddy planned on getting him a bigger home :)
Nolan then got a look at the "Izzzard". He reallllly likes him . He kept yelling at anyone who would get to close and say " My Izzzard!". If Nolan was a bit more calm I think it would be really fun to let the lizard sleep in his room but we all know that poor lizard would be running wild in that room the first night.
Daddy and Nathan headed to the pet store to get this guy some crickets to eat. We had read when they are little they eat 3-4 a day and he hadnt had antyhing since last night.
Well they came back with a new lizard aquarium, a heat light, some fancy lizard mulch bedding . water dishes and the crickets! This little lizard has a nice set up!
We still have not come up with a name and he is still on the kitchen counter but I think he is going to fit in just fine with this family. :)

He is cute right

Last Game, Team Party

Today was our last baseball game of the season. They have all come such a long way since we started. Nathan had even had a little coaching session last week where they worked on hitting. He remembered what he learned and hit it really far today!!! GO Nathan!!!!
The boys did a great job especially since it was about 100 outside! Thank goodness it is the last game till fall because it is getting just to hot for these little guys to be out there.
After our game we went to Clay's restaurant for the team party. It is a mostly outdoor place with sand and animals. We lucked out and got and indoor sitting place with air for our group only.
We handed out trophies to all of the kids. They were all so cute and excited to get a trophy. Nathan said he is going to sit his on the counter so everyone can see it when they come over. It is currently on the counter where he said he would put it :)
It is so cute to see these guys play together.
Daddy has been the coach all season but was out of town this week on a trip so we had to do the party without him. The kids all said to tell Coach Kyle thank you for being their coach . We all missed him at the party and as soon as we got back in the car Nathan said he couldn't wait to show daddy his trophy.
Lucky for him he is on a flight home as we speak :)

Chatting with his new friend he made while a second base.

What is going on here? Check out the finger

Nathan getting his trophy from Mrs. Misty

Have I mentioned Nolan thinks he is on the team. He will even say " GO PADRES" when he sees a Padres shirt.

The most handsome baseball player ever.

Yogi Bear

This last week we went on a little trip with our friends to the Yogi Bear campground! It is a little drive from our house but to close not to go. They had a water park area for the kids with a big kids splash area that had slides, water cannons and a big picnic basket that dumped water every few minutes. They also had a HUGE slide like a water park would have. The boys loved the big slide Nathan said it was like Maters from his Cars movies because it has a flag painted on the inside. Nolan loved it because it was like a train tunnel. He kept saying Chooo Choooo.
We played at the water park for a long time. We then gathered everyone up and ate some lunch. After lunch we headed out to see what else there was to do. We put on dry clothes and found a cool like play place called comfy land. The best part was that it was inside and had lots of cool things for the kids to play with. We hung out until everyone cooled off and then walked over to the craft center. In the craft center they had all kinds of different things for the kids to make. We decided on coloring the Yogi Bear shirts you could buy. It was really neat, the shirts were black and white and they had a whole set up of fabric pens for the kids to color with. Nolan was more interested in pulling the caps off the markers. Nathan was really into his . The ladies even turned on Yogi Bear cartoons for the kids to watch while they were coloring. After watching the cartoons for a bit he asked me if Yogi lived there? I said of course he does :) Not more than 5 minutes later guess who walked into the craft center????? It was YOGI!!!!! Nathans face lit up and he ran and gave him one of his excited but a little scared fast hugs.
It was so cute and sweet how he came to visit us!
Nolan was not a fan of the big bear. He was curious but not enough to go and hug him. The kids all got their pictures with Yogi and finished up their adorable shirts. They really did a great job coloring them.
We walked around a bit and found a mini golf course. Everyone grabbed a club and ball and ran off. By this point I have no clue how they were still moving. I was exhausted and it was HOT.
They ran and played golf for a bit and then it was time to load up. We went ahead and made them some dinner just in case they feel asleep on the way home. We took a super fast trip to see some animals at the petting zoo after dinner and then headed home. To my surprise neither one of these boys feel asleep on the way home. No one made a peep, they were so tired but kept fighting it. When we got home it was another story. Nolan put on his pajamas and went right to bed. Nathan did the same but just took a little longer because he was trying to stall. As soon as his head hit the pillow he was out cold.
It was such a fun day and I am so glad we did this before it got into the summer temperatures. I dont think I would have lasted more than and hour in the heat.

Artists at work.

Hard at work.

Nolan's shirt, he likes to keep it simple. Can you tell how exhausted he is :)

Nathans shirt. He did this all by himself!

End of School Play

This last week was the end of school play at the boys school. The theme this time was USA. Everything was decorated in red white and blue including the kids! They all had to wear red and blue and then the teachers had cute white hats they put on the kids.
The play was soooo cute. Some of the songs they sang were 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed, Red White and Blue, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, and lots more. They started out the play like they do everyday at school, with a prayer and the pledge. It was so cute to see how all of the kids knew it.
Nathan was serious as usual about his play and singing. Nolan was in the front with his group and he was carrying on like no one was there. He kept playing around with Mrs. Sandra and Mrs. Kama. At one point in the play the teachers got up and dances in their pajamas. Nolan laid on his belly with his hand propping up his head watching like it was the best thing he had ever seen. It was hilarious.
It was a sad time too because it was our music teacher Mrs. Judy's last day. She is retiring and is the best teacher in the world! Nathan has loved going to music since he was 2 because of Mrs. Judy . I hope they can find someone half as great to replace her.
I love these plays and it was so cute to be able to see them singing and doing things that they do everyday in school.
I have to say I think I have the two best performers in the world!

I even got a wave and a kiss from BOTH kids while they were singing :)

Discovery Green

Today at Discovery Green they were having Curious George visit! We loaded up and headed out with our friends to see this famous monkey.

I love Discovery Green, it is right in the middle of Houston surrounded by tall buildings and sports centers but it is so quiet and peaceful. It looks so pretty to me to see this huge area of green green grass with kids running around like crazy

We got there and laid out all of our blankets to sit on and wait for the show. Nolan being Nolan cant sit in one place two long so the waiting part was not really his thing. The boys wanted to play on the playground so bad but I kept telling Nathan he had to wait until the show was over. Finally it started and out came Curious George! After the story they got to take pictures with him. Nolan was not having it and wanted to chase the birds instead. Kelley patiently stood in line with the older boys while I chased Nolan who was chasing birds. He thought it was hilarious to run around after these poor birds.
After the pictures the boys finally got to play on the big play ground. Nathan's frown turned upside down in a matter of seconds!
It was getting close to lunch so we grabbed some food in the restaurant and then headed to the fountains for the boys to splash around. They had a blues band playing on the stage outside across from us. As the boys were running through the water I would catch Nolan and Nathan dancing quietly to themselves. These guys can not sit still when they hear some tunes. It always makes me giggle because I don't think anyone else realizes they are dancing so calmly.
The boys had so much fun and were exhausted by noon. This is rare but hey I will take it for sure. We loaded up everyone and everything to get home before everyone fell asleep.
I think we will be visiting this place a lot over the summer

Nathan showing me his "breakdown" dancing.

Chasing those poor birds. That little bird almost got caught. Luckily Nolan had his shoes on the wrong feet :)
