Halloween at Houston Oaks
Oh what a fun Halloween we had! We started the festivities at Meme and Papa's house. Once we got there and changed into our costumes ( a small delay because we forgot a certain sidekicks cape at home!) we were headed off to the golf club for the party.
Once we got there and checked out all the cool Halloween decorations Nathan made his way over to paint yet another pumpkin. What can I say the kid loves his pumpkins, this was his sixth one in the last two weeks. If we keep this up we can open our own pumpkin patch :)
As he was letting his pumpkin dry they called everyone over for a cake walk! I have never heard of such a thing but it seems I was the only one. The line filled up quick and Nathan didnt make it in for the first walk around. Aunt "Khaki" wiggled him in for the second round and as soon as Kyle said to me " What if he wins?" they stopped and called out number one. Take a wild guess who was standing on number one?????? NATHAN!!!! He got to pick out a cake from the whole table full of sweet goodies. We looked and looked and looked and found................. A PUMPKIN CAKE! Perfect. He let his daddy help him carry it and sit it on the table . He just couldnt resist and started eating the chocolate chip face piece by piece.
We talked him into leaving the cake in safe hands and going down the huge blow up slide they had. After some fun times with his cape flapping in the wind we rode the Hay ride. Nolan go to get in on that and had a blast! He was laughing and jumping up and down the whole time. They had some hot dogs and hamburgers so we decided it was time to eat. Nathan never eats hotdogs but decided that Batman eats them. Sure enough he ate the whole thing! We talked Meme into riding the hayride with us and went another round. After the hay ride we tried to hang around to see who won the costume contest but we ran out of time and had to get home for the real trick or treating! Kyle said in his head the boys won so I will take that ! :)
