Boys and their cars

Here are some pictures of my boys in their new cars. I am pretty sure Nolan is following in Nathan's footsteps with his love of cars.

Toys, Toys, Toys

Now that we have had a few days to get used to our new toys we have some obvious favorites,
Nathan is very fond of his Lightning McQueen Power Wheel but that was a no brainer. :) The bad news is that is has been very cold so he hasn't gotten to ride it much ,
His favorite " inside toy" is his new car that he can work on. It is great, he can pop the hood and work on the engine, change tires, fix the bumper and then go for a drive. He has recruited daddy as his new mechanic. It is to the point when daddy comes up stairs he says " Okay lets work on the car". Another favorite is a Rocket Ship that Mimi got for Nolan. Lucky for Nolan he has a big brother that will watch out for his toys until he is big enough to use them. :)
Nolan got a little play kitchen/living room that he loves. He loves to open and close the refrigerator over and over. He really loves to play and seems to take it very seriously like his big brother.

Christmas Pottery fun

This is a little out of order, sorry.
Last week we went to the pottery studio with our friends for a little Christmas get together. It was soooo much fun. We when got settled in we went to find what Nathan wanted to paint. Sure enough he went straight for the shelf with the cars and trucks. This time he picked out a big race car. He was very excited about painting it. He sat right down and went to work. He picked 3 different colors, Green, Orange and Blue. Nathan was very serious and made sure to cover every inch of it with paint. While he was busy and Nolan was watching his buddy Adian I decided to start on what I wanted to make. It worked out really well at first but then Nolan realized he hadn't had food for all of a half an hour. Poor thing was famished! he he he ehe. After entertaining the kids with numerous toys, crafts, happy meals and movies we were finally done! The boys were still ready to do something so we made our way to the little park next door to get out some energy . The boys had so much fun , including Nolan. They love to be outside and it makes everyone much happier.

A funny part of the day was when Brady and Cash showed up to the pottery place. They were wearing the exact same shirts as Nathan and Nolan! I didn't even notice until Nathan said ," Mommy, Brady has my Monkey on his shirt" ha ha ha. Neither of us even knew that they had the shirts let alone wear them on the same day. So funny.

Christmas Time

Oh what a great Christmas we had this year! We started out on Wednesday night by having a pre Christmas Eve celebration with just our little family at an arcade! It was so fun and a great way to start off some fun filled days! Nathan has been getting quarters when he helps out around the house . He emptied out his piggy bank and brought his quarters along. I hope we start a tradition out of this because it was really lots of fun.

On Christmas Eve we all got loaded up and headed out to Mimi and Papa's house. The whole gang was there. When we all arrived we went ahead and opened presents. The boys were spoiled big time by Mimi and Papa. They got more than any kid needs in a lifetime just in one night.
It is so fun now that Nathan is old enough to really enjoy everything that goes along with Christmas. Nolan seems to be more open to it all since he sees how much fun Nathan has. After lots of fun and food it was getting late and we had to get home for Santa!
We changed the boys into their pajamas and headed home. When we got home Nolan was worn out so he went straight to bed. Nathan was also tired but he had to get Santa some cookies and milk first. He went up to the counter and picked out some goodies from the desserts I had made that day. Lucky Santa got two brownie bites and a blueberry scone , ha ha h aha.
We put his goodies by the fireplace so he could get them as soon as he came through the chimney. Before we tucked him in Daddy tracked Santa on the computer so we could see how close he was. He was in Brazil and headed our way! We had to get to bed quick.
Once his little head hit the pillow he passed out! This worked out perfect since Santa's helpers were tired too.

The next morning Mimi and Papa got here before the boys were even awake!!! Kyle had to eventually go upstairs and wake them up . They were just so worn out from the night before.
When Nathan got up he saw that his elf Charlie was in his Christmas tree and had brought him some little gifts for being such a great roommate while he stayed with us.
He headed downstairs where all the excitement began again! We opened and opened and opened some more. Nolan was getting in on all the fun going from toy to toy .
After all of the toys were opened we called Nathan outside because Mimi and Papa had run into Santa on the way to our house. He had a present for Nathan they had to bring with them.
It was the one thing he asked for every time we saw Santa, every letter we wrote Santa and pretty much any time someone brought up what he thought Santa would bring him.................... A Lightning Mcqueen!!!!!.
It was just what he has wanted and I know it is why he has been so good while Charlie was here. He knew what he had to do to get this little treasure! It is so fun to see how excited they get and almost can't believe their eyes. It was so cold outside so tough Daddy took him for a cruise around the block.
When they got back we sat down and had some special Christmas Eggnog French toast and egg casserole. I am pretty sure this was Nolan's favorite part of the day! He ate and ate and ate and then it was time for his nap . I have a feeling in his book Christmas could not have gone better,
After naps and some more playing we loaded up and went to Kathy and Richards house for a nice Christmas dinner with everyone.
I could never in a million years imagine a more perfect Christmas with my beautiful guys big and small!

More pics from the play

Here are some more pictures from school. After the play we went back to the classroom to have a party for Jesus and a book exchange. What a fun day!!!!

Christmas Play!

It is my favorite time of year. Time for Nathan's annual Christmas Play! I love this so much. This year everyone wore white shirts and red bow ties. Nathan's class sang songs about jingle bells, baby jesus and then all of the classes sang Happy Birthday to baby Jesus.
Nathan was very secretive about what songs they were singing this year. The only clue I have gotten was that when we see a manger scene he tells me "Mommy, baby Jesus sleeps on the floor" I put it together today and realized they have been telling him to put baby Jesus on the floor in one of the songs.
Between Hogan and our family we took up a whole row. We were all so excited to watch these guys .
Nolan was ready to play and dance with everyone . Mimi and Daddy were able to keep him occupied .
We are so proud of our little guy and I can not wait until Nolan is able to be in the show with him.

Here is a video of Nathan singing. I know I should try to be modest but .........Is he not the most talented kid you have ever seen or what? I love how serious he is about his fancy moves.

Bridges

The last week Nathan has been building bridges non stop. I think it is so cute because he is very serious about how they are made. Here is a picture of the bridge he made this morning. As he is building the bridge he tells me how the car has to jump and drive over all the different parts. I love it!
He is not in the picture with his bridge because he didn't want to put on underwear. I didn't want a weird picture so we settled on the bridge by itself.
Boys, you have to love em.

Grocery Shopping.

Neither one of my boys like to wear pants? Most days Nathan's mysteriously get taken off towards nap time. On days when we stay home I feel like I don't even notice because his shirts are so long they cover his booty. My favorite memories of my pant less wonder go like this.
Me: As I glance across the room to see him playing twister and notice a big bare bum " Nathan , put some pants on"
Nathan: "What ? "
Me:" Put some pants on"
Nathan: " I can't"
Me: "Why?"
Nathan: "What?"
Me: "Nathan , where are your pants?"
Nathan: "What?"
This conversation goes on for a while as you can see.

This brings me to Nolan. Oh Nolan. My little guy does not like clothes. He gets so happy when you take them off and gets super grouchy when he realizes you are putting more on.
Yesterday he was not feeling very well so when I saw how happy he was to be naked I let him go with it for a bit. He decided to do some grocery shopping while naked. I thought these were the funniest pictures . He was walking around like he was soooooo happy and free .  I keep thinking to myself I sure am glad this isn't how everyone grocery shops! Could you imagine?! h ah ahah ah.

Charlie

This Christmas we started a new tradition with our elf Charlie! Charlie is from the Elf on the Shelf book. When Charlie first got to our house Nathan and daddy opened him up and got on line to name and register him. We had to do this first so Santa will know where all of his elves have gone to live. I am not sure where the name Charlie came from but I like it and am very glad he didn't end up with Nathan's recent go to word...... poo poo.
Nathan was holding him and flying around with him until we read the book. It has specific instructions not to touch the elf! It apparently affects his Christmas Magic that allows him to fly to the North Pole every night with his report for Santa. Oh no! It turns out he was okay and was able to make his first flight. Whewwww.
Every morning Charlie is in a new spot . He has been spotted all over the house. Nathan always knows where he is but never seems to look for him?
I would like to thank Charlie for helping have lots of good nights and no whining at bedtime. I am worried what will happen when he has to be sent away till next year.

Cookie Time

We decided to do a practice session on baking cookies for Santa. Nathan thought it was a great idea! He made some super cool snowmen, gingerbread men and christmas trees! Poor Nolan was already in bed by the time cookies cooled off. I am sure next year he will be right in the middle eating the sprinkles with the rest of us. :)

I think Santa will be pleased

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

This last weekend our friends Brady and Cash had a Christmas Party. It was soooo fun. There were lots of yummy treats, crafts, and............Santa Claus!!!!!!!! Can you believe it!? Santa Claus came to visit all the kids. It was pretty exciting to say the least. Santa talked to all of the kids and handed out presents. Nathan of course told Santa that he would like a "McQueen" . He also told him about his new elf Charlie. Santa agreed that Charlie tells him what Nathan is doing and he better keep up the nice act or Charlie will tell. Thank you Santa! :)
Here are some pictures of the night . You can see Nolan is still not okay with Santa. I love the look he is giving him. When it was Nolan's turn to get his present he didnt take eyes off of him. He has a look like " I am watching you Santa" . I love it.

Snowflakes

Last weekend Nathan decided it was time to decorate his room. We made some snowflakes that he cut out with his safety scissors. After they were just right we went out and he "spray" painted them blue to look like real snowflakes. After they dried we put them on a ribbon and hung them up in his room.
They look pretty awesome if you ask me! I am thinking about letting him decorate the whole place next year!

and yes that is Nathan outside in December with no pants on. The next Friday it snowed! Got to love Texas :)javascript:void(0)

Happy Turkey Day!

We had such a fun Thanksgiving. The boys woke up super early on Thanksgiving. Nolan was already down for his first nap in time for the Macy's Parade! Nathan and I hung out and watched while I made some goodies to take to Mimi's house.
After we saw some super cool stuff like Sponge Bob, Spiderman and of course our favorite Christmas song right now, " Were simply having a Wonderful Christmas Time", we got Nolan up and headed for Mimi and Papa's house. Nolan and Nathan played so nice while we waited for lunch. NOlan was the first one in his seat and eating! He LOVED his Thanksgiving. He ate so much food. I am sure he eats more than Nathan right now. After lunch Nolan passed out and took a 3 hour nap! I think he has thanksgiving figured out pretty good. Eat, sleep, eat again. :) Nathan played with his uncle Chad for a little bit and then was ready for his little "rest". Daddy and the guys went out to play some golf .
When everyone woke back up Nolan was ready to eat again and Nathan was ready for some Golf. Daddy took Nathan to the golf course to play a few holes and Nolan got his bib on for the second round of Thanksgiving.
It was such a nice and relaxing day full of food and family :) I was certain NOlan was not going to fit into any of his clothes the next day .
