Nolan Plays Soccer

We finally signed Nolan up to play soccer! He has been a spectator to all of Nate's games and practices and now it is finally his turn. We put him in soccer first since he does a class at Great Play and I feel like it is the sport you start out with right? :) The first game he just stood around trying to figure out what was going on . He isn't usually shy but he did not want to get in the middle of that crazy mess to get the ball. He is so funny to watch how he kicks the ball . He bends all the way over and works up to a pretty big kick. The next weekend it was SO COLD outside and I was for sure he wasn't going to want to play being in three layers of clothes. Well I thought wrong! He scored 8 goals !!!! He was on a roll . It was so exciting to see how he was so into it in just a week. He did so great they even gave him the game medal! He was so excited to show Nathan and Daddy . The next week I was for sure he was going to bring it again. Well he did not, he was flirting with his coach and running around with his hands in his shirt like a dinosaur!? I guess we will have to wait and see what will happen at his next game.

The Tooth Fairy Makes A Visit

It was a sad night in our house :( Nathan lost his first tooth! How did this happen? He isn't old enough for that ? He has been telling us that his bottom tooth was loose but wouldn't let us touch it. Well it was REALLY loose today. I even rushed home to sew him a tooth fairy pillow to put his tooth in because I knew it wouldn't be much longer. At dinner I just knew it would fall out but it didn't . We were getting ready for bed, taking showers, doing homework and still nothing. As Nate was brushing his teeth I was getting Nolan ready for bed when I noticed it was gone! I said Nate your tooth is gone! He had no idea it had fallen out. It came out while he was brushing his teeth because I saw it in his mouth right before. I thought to myself " who looses their first tooth down the drain? What kind of mom lets that happen?!" He was so worried that the tooth fairy wouldn't be able to find it and not know he lost his tooth. We had an idea, we wrote her a note to put in the pillow so she would know where it was. He sat down at the coffee table with is pencil and serious face. He wrote " Dear Tooth Fairy, I lost my first tooth tonight. It went down the drain . It looked like this ( with a drawing of his tooth) Love Nathan". It was the cutest and sweetest letter ever written. We folded that up and put it away in the pillow and waited for the tooth fairy. He was so excited and it took forever to fall asleep that night. The next morning he ran downstairs to show me that he had 5 dollars in his pillow!!!!! The tooth fairy left him a very sweet note and let him know not to worry that she located the tooth! Whew... Now I need him to stop getting older, what fairy do I call about that?

100 Days at School

I can not believe that Nathan has already been in Kindergarten 100 days! They have a huge celebration at school for the 100 days and all of the kids make special shirts to wear. I took Nate to the craft store to pick out what he wanted to put on his shirt. He picked out glow in the dark paint and eyes! We made a 100 out of the paint and filled it in with eyes, eyes and more eyes. I think it turned out great and he looked so handsome for his 100th day . I volunteered that day at school so I got to see all of the fun things they got to do and even spied on my man . They had tons of stations set up that had to do with 100 and even got to bring home a huge bag of 100 day crafts.

Trip to Tahoe!

For Christmas the boys present from us was a trip to Tahoe! They both have been talking about seeing the snow for such a long time and were so excited! We bought all of our snow gear, gloves, hats, snowball throwers, boots and packed up. Mimi and Papa even came along for such a great trip . We all got to the airport which was VERY busy. I guess everyone else was going on their Christmas trips too. We had a fast layover and were finally there. It seems like it took forever to get the luggage and car rental but when we did we were on our way to FUN! We drove a little bit to get to Tahoe and started seeing the beautiful snow! The boys were soooo excited . We got into our rooms and put on our snow clothes right away. The boys could not wait to get out into that snow. They had so much fun and love the snow. They were sinking into it, making snowballs, and laughing so hard. The next day we rode up to the closest ski school to see if we could get the boys in and they were all booked!! It was a very busy time and we had no anticipated the crowds. ooopsy. We headed down the road a bit to go sledding. We checked in and all got our sleds. Daddy and Nate got their own while me and Nolan decided to stick together in one. We climbed up and slid down what seemed like a million hills. The boys were cracking up and Nate even figured out how to get it to go backwards. At one point he even flipped over a barrier! We were worried he was done after the crash but got back up and on it again. When we were leaving the boys talked Kyle into buying them a sled to take back to the hotel with us to play with. The next day we had made reservations for them at Snowboarding school! This school was so cool because it was Star Wars themed! The boys got to wear special vest and helmets the were like R2D2. While they were in school Kyle and I went up to the mountain to ski. I am not even going into that long story. Lets just say it was the worst part that ended with altitude sickness. We headed down to spy on the boys . They were doing so great! Nate had already moved over to the hill in the kid area to learn how to stop and go. Nolan was doing pretty good and had all the girls pulling him around on his snowboard! ha ha a. When it was time to pick them up I could not wait to hear what they thought about it. They LOVED it. Nathan was so excited about how great he did and Nolan was so tired he could barely keep his eyes open. We asked them if they wanted to go again the next day and they quickly said YES! We went and signed them up again. The instructor working the counter let us know it was much cheaper to buy the three days instead of two and we didn't have to use it. We bought the three pack with no intentions of putting them in all three days. They went again the next day and had a great time again. I spent the day spying on them and watching their new skills. Both boys did such a great job . Nolan had the balance down and his only problem was waiting his turn :) Nate was learning all kinds of new moves and was doing such a great job. When it was time to pick them up both boys were exhausted but had such a great time again. The boys spent the night with Mimi and Papa while Kyle and I went to the Casino and had a yummy dinner. The next morning everyone met us to eat lunch and play in the huge arcade at the hotel. We all had so much fun and even Papa was playing the games with the boys. We got so many tickets that we cashed in for tons of "fancy" toys. We headed back to play in the snow a bit more while daddy grilled us dinner. That night when we were talking about what we were going to do the next day Nathan begged to go back to the Snowboarding School. There was no way I was telling him no. When we asked Nolan he said he wanted to go too. Poor Nate wanted to go so bad and had been doing so good at it so we woke up early the next day to put them back in. Kyle didnt plan on skiing anymore so we just hung out eating breakfast and watching the boys. By the afternoon Nathan had move up to the BIG mountain and even got to ride the chair lift!!!!! I was so proud of him and how far he had come in just three days! Back at ski school Nolan had also moved up to the big kids hill! He was so funny and having such a blast. We made sure to tape them so they could see how good they were doing. Nathan watches the video over and over. When we picked him up that day his instructor said he did such a great job and was such a great listener. Nolans instructor said he was such a blast and so sweet. That night was a sad night because we had to pack up to go back home :( Nathan begged us to just move there. ah ah ah. He was so serious and I feel so bad. He loved the snow so much and even to this day we talk about Tahoe and how he just wants to move there for "100 thousand days". Nolan tells him its okay because we have a house there????? ah ah aha. We had such a great time and I think it is by far one of the best vacations we have ever been on . It is so nice to be able to spend and share these moments as a family together with Mimi and Papa. For the pictures Nolan is in the orange :)

Ninja Nolans Party

It's party time! Nolan was so excited for his birthday party this year. He decided he wanted it to be a ninja theme. We had it at Great Play with all of his friends. The coaches pretended to be Ninja Trainers and really played it up for the kids. We started by doing introductions and putting the ninja headbands on all the kids. They played all kinds of games and finished their Ninja training. All of the kids were into it and had a great time. Nolan was in heaven since everything was all Ninja! We had Ninja food like egg rolls, dumplings, ninja peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and fortune cookies with a special message about Ninja Nolans birthday! When the kids were done training we chowed down and had ninja cupcakes. Nolan was so happy and blew his candle out in one try this year. For the favors we had wooden ninjas in their own special bags and candy ninja sushi! I love birthdays and I love seeing the boys have such a great time with all of their friends and get to celebrate their special days! We are so lucky to have such a great group of friends and family who make these days so special for them.
